OMW to The Woodlands
Doris’s Dispatch
After a lovely doze on the flight to Chicago, I woke up just in time to look out the window and see the beautiful Chicago skyline along Lake Michigan AND a golf course!
It was a sign… Fate! And then I saw four more, lol!
But they were all beautiful—the green grass, such a particular green of spring in the Midwest… so fresh, almost a kelly green? And the sand in the bunkers…
There seemed to be two different colors. One a lighter, creamier white and another more of a khaki color. I’m not sure if they’re actually different types of sand/dirt or were some freshly raked?
We flew out over Lake Michigan then circled back to the airport, which I love doing. The Lake is also so beautiful this time of year—a blue green/aquamarine rather than the deep dark blue that it looks during the fall and winter…
Update: Boarding the flight to Houston. I saw a woman in first class wearing a baseball cap saying “152nd Royal Troon.”
I leaned over and asked if she was attending the Chevron Championship and when she looked at me blankly, I said, “It’s the LPGA tournament in Houston. The Woodlands this weekend.” She perked up a little bit and said she’d look into it! :)
